Had a really amazing experience staying at the Clare room here with a friend during the Boston Marathon. As a lover of historic architecture, it fit the bill. Gorgeous entry and staircase. Laura and Olivia were very sweet and helpful during our stay. Very nice to have a welcoming energy on a special weekend like race weekend. We will definitely come back here. Short 10 minute walk to Back Bay, but actually prefer the neighborhood vibe in South End.

The Clare room at the Upton was the perfect place for my daughter's and my visit to Boston. The location is simply awesome - so many restaurants, shops, and sights within a quick walk. The room was comfortable, bright and clean. It had old house quirks, but we like that. Our entire stay was delightful and I definitely would stay there again.

My stay at The Upton couldn’t have been more comfortable or convenient. As a long time Boston resident who has moved away, I’ve finally found my Boston home away from home. Laura and Olivia were wonderful hosts, the room was very comfortable, and loved the easy access with the same code for the front door and room (customized for each guest). The location is perfect for enjoying the South End nightlife or getting in and out from the airport easily. And the nights were quiet and peaceful. I’m looking forward to returning soon!

The Upton continues to deliver - charming, thoughtful design, the best location in Boston, and the feeling you're lucky enough to have a friend with a big town house who invites you back. This was my second stay - I am an architect and love the views out to Upton Street. Laura verges on being a spiritual teacher for her availability, local recommendations, and ever -positive energy. Last visit I bumped into celebrity guests -- they also appreciated the personal, small-scale comfort and ambience of the Upton.

Fantastic place to stay and enjoy the South End of Boston. We had a car and paid for the parking spot each night. It was conveniently located behind the hotel and well worth the price. Street parking it very limited and garage parking is even more costly. Our room was clean and extremely comfortable. We will be staying here again. Great location for walking, dining and shopping without being in the hustle and bustle of all the tourists. Laura and Olivia were so easy to work with and quick to respond.

The perfect Boston stay! As someone who lived in Boston for many years, I knew exactly where I wanted to stay during my first trip back. The Upton is nestled in the beautiful South End, a close walk to many bakeries/coffee shops/restaurants. The Upton is located in a brownstone, which made it feel like we had a home during our stay. We chose “The Tremont” and loved having a nice view (see photos), sitting area and small kitchen area. We had plenty of space which is rare in typical city stays. Olivia was extremely helpful from start to finish. Booking and check-in were easy, and she was available when we needed during our stay. Boston is our favorite city and we will be staying at the Upton again at our next visit.

I enjoyed my stay in The Upton very much, the Clare suite was cozy, perfect to regain energy after a long day spent exploring Boston. It was well-equipped, spacious with gorgeous views, the neighbourhood was lovely too. If you like walking, you can get to the city center within 30 minutes, otherwise you can use the nearby subway station. I appreciate the communication with the hosts too, Olivia and Laura were kind and made sure I had everything I needed. I will gladly revisit this place in the future.
